Tõnis Saadoja “Urmas Ploomipuu valge maja” (“Urmas Ploomipuu’s White House”)

The book accompanies the exhibition of the same name at the Kumu Art Museum (13.04.–23.10.2011). It is an intriguing exploration by the artist Tõnis Saadoja of the work of another artist, Urmas Ploomipuu (1942–1990). Saadoja focuses primarily on Ploomipuu’s painting, despite Ploomipuu being trained as a graphic artist and predominantly working in that field. Ploomipuu’s paintings are limited to four oil paintings and a few gouaches and watercolors. The author offers a captivating and thorough examination of the essence of Ploomipuu’s artistic method.
