Raivo Kelomees “Tiia Johannson 1965-2002” (DVD)

Tiia Johannson’s video raw material was filmed between 1990 and 1997, but the videos were edited in 1993 and 1996-97. The earliest piece, “4 elementi” (1990/93), is based on a workshop at the Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts. The later editing was motivated by real events, such as exhibitions or her master’s thesis defense: “Nimeraamat” was created for the exhibition “Eesti kui märk” (1996), and the videos “Chaos,” “I Clicked My Heart,” “Ballet,” “Lost Reality,” and “Black Sun” were made as part of her master’s thesis “Marginal Status in Digital Age,” which she defended at the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1997.
