Luule Šavornokk „(sulgudes)“ (“(In Brackets)”)

“(sulgudes)” is another radical experimental product from ;paranoia. The book features an outstanding array of experimental authors. This book-like new product is based on parentheses as symbols of isolation and the inescapability of textual space. It is probably the compilation with the most experimental authors ever published in Estonia, and a worthy successor to the collections “Olematute Raamatute Antoloogia” (Anthology of Nonexistent Books) and “Seeneriik on lähedal” (The Mushroom Kingdom is Near).

“(sulgudes)” is an experimental adaptation of M. Le Comte Xavier De Maistre’s book “Voyage autour de ma chambre” (1794). The twenty-five authors selected by ;paranoia were assigned chapters converted from French to Estonian by a translation robot, based on the numbers they provided. They were asked to rewrite or process the chapters according to their own agenda or authorial position. No further instructions were given, and the authors were unaware of the original source of the text.
