Description

Marge Monko’s book “I Don’t Eat Flowers” features the artist’s recent works focused on changes in labor politics. The book includes a photo series of the Kreenholm factory complex in Narva, videos such as Nora’s Sisters, Forum, Shaken Not Stirred, and fragments of a photo installation exhibited at the Köler Prize 2012 nominee exhibition. The title of the book is taken from the work of the same name – a poster inspired by the American labor icon Rosie the Riveter. The book also includes an essay by Katrin Kivimaa and an interview with the artist conducted by Eléonore de Montesquiou. This publication was created in conjunction with Marge Monko’s participation in the Manifesta 9 European Biennial of Contemporary Art in Genk, Belgium.
