Denés Farkas “Evident in Advance. Ilmne paratamatus”

The exhibition and catalog Evident in Advance at the Estonian Pavilion of the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013 is a proposition for a “missing book” and, at the same time, “a book that is yet to come.” The installation Evident in Advance is a piece of spatial and rhythmic writing. Consisting of separate, yet intertwined environments with poetic fragments, it forms a quintet of installative spaces: a library, a garden, a missing cinema, a spatial book, and an obsession chamber (the location of a mad architect and non-writer). “A story? No. No more stories, never again,” Farkas repeats after Maurice Blanchot, while continually echoing his art of absolute negation and rejection.
