This book is in English. The book has been compiled based on the main and sub-themes of the exhibition.
For the sake of better readability, a clearer time chronology has been followed in the book than in the exhibition, where due to the specifics of the room, the timeline is sometimes bent, some topics are connected to each other, others go through several rooms. Some of the most characteristic, interesting, intriguing works from each subsection are highlighted, the content and background of which are further explained. Since the book has a total of seven authors, the texts are also different – this makes the whole more fragmentary, but at the same time gives an opportunity to show the multiplicity of viewpoints and ways of talking about the art of the Soviet era.
Anu Allas compiled the book and wrote the introductory texts
