Catalogue „Volditud maailm. Lehvikud EKM kogudest” (“Folded World. Fans from the EKM Collections”)

This book accompanies the eponymous exhibition at the Mikkeli Museum (25.04.–11.10.2015) and includes a catalogue of fans in the museum’s collection, along with articles on the history, collecting, and conservation of fans. The valuable fan collection at the Estonian Art Museum, consisting of over 30 pieces, features important fashion accessories from the 18th to the early 20th century, representing items from Western Europe, Russia, China, and Japan. Historical fans reveal a miniature world of their time: society life and customs, fashion, and politics.
