Description

The comprehensive catalogue accompanying Jüri Kask’s retrospective exhibition “Blink of an Eye” is the most extensive volume to date dedicated to his work. The publication complements the exhibition by offering a deeper insight into Kask’s worldview: it includes detailed exhibition layouts, previously unpublished, beautifully designed philosophical reflections on life and art, personal photographs spanning decades, and an interview conducted by Ants Juske in 1992. The art historical context is explored through essays by art historians Mari Nõmmela, Liisa Kaljula, and Brita Karin Arnover. Artist Peeter Krosmann contributes a personal account of his encounters with Kask. Across 247 pages, the catalogue presents a wealth of reproductions, including both exhibited and omitted works. The entire volume has been designed by Jaan Evart in Kask’s characteristic explosion of color.
