Description

The first page of the catalogue features the artist Jüri Kask’s autograph. Signed catalogues are available in limited quantities.

Published alongside Jüri Kask’s retrospective exhibition “Jüri Kask. Blink of an Eye”, this extensive catalogue is the most comprehensive publication on Kask’s work to date. The catalogue complements the exhibition by offering a closer insight into Kask’s world of thought. It includes detailed exhibition designs, previously unpublished and beautifully composed philosophical reflections by Kask on life and art, personal photographs from across the decades, and an interview given to Ants Juske in 1992.

The art-historical context is explored in articles by art historians Mari Nõmmela, Liisa Kaljula, and Brita Karin Arnover. Artist Peeter Krosmann writes from the perspective of personal contact with Kask. The 247-page catalogue also includes numerous reproductions of works both included in and left out of the exhibition. The publication has been designed by Jaan Evart in a vivid burst of colour characteristic of Kask’s work.
