Description

Tanel Veenre’s author’s book “Handful” is almost a confessional view of the beauty and pain of being an artist: “Let this book be an encounter with one’s own naturalness, momentary recognitions, reconciliations and blessings.”

In this 264-page book, thoughts and images, jewelry and inspiration meet in a rather arbitrary connection, behind which one can sense the artist’s primal urge to better understand himself and the world around him. The best friends and the mediums on this path are the artist’s hands, with whom one feels, learns and discovers together. Agreeableness, empathy and an open heart are the best companions on this journey. For Tanel Veenre, creation is an existential inevitability, a source of endless doubts as well as a great and pure joy of creation. The theme running through the book is the encounter with one’s own doubts: “One of my biggest fears is to understand what is important and what is not, what is true and what is false. But until I have been given this knowledge, everything is allowed to be reflected in everything: as an ambivalent and limitless understanding . I believe that it is precisely in contradictions that the truth flashes most authentically, or rather – it gives the opportunity to perceive from different angles. Don’t touch the elephant in the dark room. So let me also contradict myself, talk about the tail and the trunk at the same time.”
