Leonhard Lapin „Koodid” (“Codes”)
In 2007, Leonhard Lapin celebrated his 60th anniversary with the exhibition „Koodid” (“Codes”) at the Kumu Art Museum, accompanied by this book. The basis of Lapin’s “Codes” series, which he started in 2003, is one of the most significant symbols of the modern world – the barcode printed on products, which has been creatively used as the underlying structure for paintings and graphic works. The book includes an author’s article by Leonhard Lapin, in which the artist explains his painting series „Koodid” (“Codes”), an essay by art scholar Anders Härm on the Lapin phenomenon, and a detailed biography.
