Joonas Sildre “Navel of the World”

“Navel of the World” an Estonian children’s comic book. It tells the story of a girl who, staying home alone, finds a scientist digging earth in her garden. He claims that it is there that the navel of the world is located, which has the ability to draw everything and everyone towards itself. That’s right, and the story starts, involving strange neighbors and other residents of the small settlement.

The author of the comic book is Joonas Sildre, whose comics have appeared both in the Estonian press and in foreign comics collections. He is one of the most well-known of Estonian cartoonists abroad. “The navel of the world” is his first author’s book.
