Description

“This is an art and colouring book for children” was born in cooperation between art historian Rael Artel and artist Viktor Gurov. It is a book project that introduces the classics of Estonian art to the young audience and allows them to try their hand at it.

“This is an art and colouring book for children” consists of three parts: a colour art book, in which Rael Artel has selected 16 exciting pictures from the Tartu Art Museum’s collection, and a black and white activity book, drawn by Viktor Gurov based on the selected pictures. The illustrator has created a new, modernized version of each artwork that the young viewer can finish. All pictures in the colouring book are accompanied by guiding tasks, but you don’t have to read or complete them! The book is open to viewing Estonian art, thinking along with it, as well as for independent experimentation and playing. In addition, the book comes with a large poster of colour names.

Through “This is an art and colouring book for children”, children can get acquainted with the works of Märt Laarman, Malle Leis, Kaarel Liimand, Konrad Mägi, Peeter Mudist, Ado Vabbe, Aleksander Vardi, Eduard Wiiralt among others.
