Description

Erik Alalooga (born 1974) is a performance and installation artist who focuses on constructing artistic machines, but is also active in sound art. His works react to the actions of the audience. Alalooga’s extensive solo exhibition Singulator took place at the Tartu Art Museum in 2018.

Erik Alalooga is an interdisciplinary artist who has been active in the art field for over ten years, has done it in a unique way, gained a wide reputation, but in the end still remained a little far from the established art scene.
In print, Erik Alalooga will accompany the solo exhibition “Singulator” at Tartu Art Museum 24.05.2018 – 19.08.2018 (curator Joanna Hoffmann). At the center of the exhibition are interactive machines that react to the actions of the audience. It is one of the most experimental contemporary art exhibitions in the museum’s 2018 program, which introduces the audience to the world of mechanical art full of possibilities through Alalooga’s work.
The catalog selectively introduces all of Alalooga’s previous work with a lot of picture material. The print is complemented by a cassette with the audio piece “Voyagerism to music”, which was recorded on 23.02.2018 at a performance of the same name with Erik Alaooga.
