In the richly illustrated print, Tiina Abel and Kumu curator Anu Allas open up the relationship between body and art using the Tartu Art Museum’s collections as an example. The human figure has been an important representational object for artists for centuries, based on this, the authors have highlighted the theme of beauty related to the action genre, but also pointed to the place of the body in self-definition, power relations and the expression of emotions.
