Size of text

Increasing or decreasing the size of the text is possible in all popular web browsers by holding the Ctrl key (on OS X operating systems the Cmd key) and pushing either “+” or “-” key at the same time. The catalogue “From Explosion to Plain Grounds. Contemporary Estonian Photography 1991–2015” offers an overview of Estonian photographic art from the past 25 years, highlighting photography as a contemporary medium and focusing on key themes through the works of 50 artists. Annika Toots writes about photography as a tool of memory, while Eve Kiiler’s interview provides emotional and factual background on the context of artists and works over the last 30 years. Marge Monko and Hanno Soans discuss contemporary photographic practices and author positions. Detailed analyses of 13 works are provided by various cultural researchers and photographers. This publication accompanies the exhibition “From Explosion to Plain Grounds. Contemporary Estonian Photography 1991–2015” at the Tartu Art Museum from November 20, 2015, to February 28, 2016.
