Description

The aim of the “Young Tartu” exhibition project, initiated in the fall of 2017 with the support of the Tartu City Government, is to give a young artist connected with Tartu the opportunity to hold a personal exhibition in a museum environment.
The catalogue accompanying the exhibition “Brussels Prelude: Liminal Zone” reflects the work of Sten Eltermaa and introduces his position in the field of contemporary art. This publication is the first comprehensive catalogue that deals with the opening chords of Eltermaa’s creative career and the topics that fascinate him.
The works exhibited in the exhibition deal with the relations of space and territory expressed in the architectural language of an institutionalized society, special attention is paid to the allusions of glass as a dominant material. Wandering around the Euroquartier in Brussels and experiencing the architecture of the authorities led Eltermaa to a more in-depth analysis of the aforementioned topics.
